Changing Lives has been chosen as the South Yorkshire Women Inspired Network’s (SYWIN) Charity of the Year for 2026/27.
Members of the network voted Changing Lives from five nominated organisations, with the partnership set to raise awareness and support for our Women’s Centre & Community Hub in Doncaster over the coming year.
The South Yorkshire Women Inspired Network brings women together from across South Yorkshire, and exists to inspire, empower, and elevate women from all backgrounds to reach their full potential. They are a community rooted in compassion, equity, and collaboration, committed to removing barriers, amplifying women’s voices, and creating opportunities for meaningful personal and professional growth.
They recognise that structural inequalities, gender bias, and the unequal impact of work-life balance continue to hinder many women’s progress.
Through its Charity of the Year partnership, SYWIN will support Changing Lives through fundraising and activities involving its members throughout 2026/27.
Our Changing Lives Community Hub and Women’s Centre, based in the heart of Doncaster, provides a welcoming community space where people can connect with others, access support and take part in activities designed to improve wellbeing and independence.
The team takes a trauma-informed approach, recognising the significant impact that experiences of trauma can have on people’s mental health and wellbeing. Support is built around creating a safe and respectful environment, developing trust, promoting choice and helping people feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
Services available through the centre include mental health and wellbeing support, support for women and children from BME communities, volunteering opportunities, community activities and opportunities to connect with others. Free on-site childcare is also available for people accessing our services.
All of the support provided through the centre is free to access.
