Changing Lives

We support women whose lives have been adversely impacted by their use of substances in and around Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire

Our Service

Funded for 3 years by the MOJ Rehabilitation fund the Changing Lives: Women’s Enhanced Support Service project supports women whose lives have been adversely impacted by their use of substances in and around Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire. The team support women to re-engage with services, improve their wellbeing and reduce the negative impacts substances can have on their lives.

The project is based on an Outreach approach, taking a holistic view of each individuals needs and offering a trauma informed approach. We work in partnership with other local agencies to get the best outcomes for the women.

  • Our outreach workers work alongside probation, IOM, the Changing Lives CRS team, homeless services, and substance misuse services to respond to the multiple complex traumas faced by women involved in the criminal justice system and using monkey dust.
  • Staff will work with other community teams to locate and engage with women who are at risk enhancing their opportunity to improve their social outcomes specific to recovery, mental health, housing, abuse, exploitation, and wellbeing.
