Mental Health Assertive Engagement Outreach Team
Recovery and Wellbeing
Introduction to Service
The Mental Health Assertive Engagement Outreach Team is a strength-focused, trauma informed approach to recovery from poor mental health.
We emphasise building good relationships, peer support and self-management in the community of North Tyneside.
We adopt a holistic approach to support, assisting people to attend GP and hospital appointments and empowering them to engage with DWP, housing providers and local community wellbeing projects so that the goals and outcome are sustainable for the person to do this independently.
With regular one-to-ones, we will listen to the people we work with to develop a care plan to assist long-term recovery from poor mental health, which will break down isolation and fear of the wider community.
How to access
All referrals are received via the North Tyneside Community Treatment Team or via hospital PLT.
